COURSE OVERVIEW
The Microfinance Apprenticeship Program (MAP) provides the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and values that are necessary to
run a successful Microfinance Institution. The program is based on the Dual Apprenticeship System (DAS), which is
a holistic training approach, meaning that graduates are not specialized in one department only but acquire the needed
competences to perform in all relevant departments of their place of work – MFIs and SACCOS. Through this program, the
trainee will gain work experience under the mentorship of a team of supervisors at the trainees’ workplace. The theoretical knowledge, with the relevant skills and values, are acquired through tutoring by a selection of trainers at UIBFS.
The training approach for this course is as below;

The minimum entry requirements include one of the following:
- A’ level Certificate with One principle pass if already working in an MFI
- Diploma
- Degree
- Foreign students with Qualifications from recognised Institutions
