Application Process and Fees

  1. Register as a student member of the Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services at www.sms.uibfs.or.ug
  2. Decide on which method of study suits your work patterns and circumstances.

  2. The evening classes are conducted from 6.00 PM to 8.00 PM on weekdays blended with e-learning study
  3. Blended Distance Learning
  4. E’ learning / Online under  Study Methodology

The Institute provides appropriate learning materials, to those members who for reasons of location, work schedules or family commitments, cannot attend formal evening classes. Under this scheme the Institute conducts weekend face to face study sessions/blended with e-learning to help its members in study centres. Currently the centres are located in Kampala, Mbale, Mbarara, Arua, Kabale, Fort-Portal, Jinja, Hoima and Gulu.

The Institute is committed to helping members to succeed in their examinations. Under this method of study, The Institute provides appropriate learning materials, which contain assignments, tests and model answers. There are ample study materials available in the library, special study packs, journals like the Ugandan Banker and many others.

WHAT IS THE PASS MARK IN THE EXAMINATION?

The pass mark in each paper is 50% for undergraduate courses, and 60% for postgraduate courses, all courses have a continuous assessment that contributes to the final mark.

WHEN ARE THE EXAMINATIONS HELD?

Examinations are held in the first two weeks of May and November each year.
